Job Merkies – ‘Microdosing Ibogaine – less is more?’

Job MerkiesThis presentation provides a factual overview of iboga(ine) and its potential applications in microdosing. Iboga, a psychoactive plant from Central Africa, will be discussed in terms of therapeutic effects, potential benefits, and known risks. Microdosing with iboga involves taking very low doses of this substance, which may be associated with improved cognitive function, emotional stability, and mental well-being. The presentation explores the impact of microdosing on focus, mental clarity, and resilience, as well as its role in neuroplasticity. Participants will receive information about safe practices, realistic expectations, cardiovascular risks, drug interactions, and situations where microdosing may not be suitable.

Job Merkies is a psychologist and biohacker with a degree in clinical psychology. Currently, he specializes in trauma therapy (for PTSD), utilizing modalities such as EMDR. His passion for human well-being drives him to integrate mental and physical health through practices like sports, nutrition, yoga, and meditation. He has experience in psychedelic therapy, both as a facilitator and a participant, having engaged in ceremonies across various traditions around the world. Louisette Blikkenhorst – ‘The power of the Ketogenic Diet explained’

Louisette BlikkenhorstWhile the ketogenic diet is often associated with weight loss, increased energy, and better focus, its benefits extend far beyond that. In this talk, I’ll explore how ketones—produced when following a ketogenic diet—contribute to improved overall health and vitality. We’ll also delve into the importance of keto adaptation and metabolic flexibility, two processes that allow your body to switch efficiently between fuel sources for optimal functioning. By understanding these key aspects, you’ll gain insights into how the ketogenic lifestyle supports long-term health, resilience, and well-being, and how a ketogenic intervention can be a powerful tool. Perfect for anyone looking to deepen their knowledge of ketones.

Louisette Blikkenhorst is the founder of Ketogeen Instituut Nederland and an expert in Ketogenic Metabolic Therapy and lifestyle since 2017. After years of studying nutrition, orthomolecular medicine, and kPNI, she discovered the ketogenic diet and its profound potential. A new fire was sparked. she is passionate about advocating for the transformative power of ketogenic interventions in improving metabolic health, which she believes is the foundation for all well-being. Once you witness the effects of carbohydrate restriction and ketosis, it becomes impossible to ignore. She focuses on educating professionals to use this approach to improve client health outcomes.

Maarten Fornerod – ‘Biomedical applications of Molecular Hydrogen’

Maarten FornerodMolecular hydrogen (H2), notorious for its flammability, has shown promising therapeutic effects in low concentrations against oxidative stress and inflammation-related diseases. Beneficial effects have been seen in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and high blood pressure. An animal study even suggests a general anti-aging effect. I will discuss mechanism of action, how to navigate the scientific literature, personal experience and practical approaches for using molecular hydrogen gas.

Maarten Fornerod (1963) is biologist, optimist and interested in the unknown. He works as a associate professor in the field of cell biology and DNA research with a computational angle and is also active as an author and influencer in the realms of life style, health policy and Indonesian heritage. Inspired by Stans van der Poel, he became interested in oxygen therapy as an anti-ageing approach in 2016, and more recently in molecular hydrogen as a systemic anti-inflammatory gas. He favours natural and simple solutions to complex problems.

Marta Kaczmarczyk – ‘Longevity Supplements: Separating Science from Industry Hype’

Marta KaczmarczykLongevity supplements have surged in popularity due to their purported health benefits and potential to enhance healthspan. However, it’s essential to recognize that these supplements are also promoted by a growing industry driven by companies seeking profit. So, is there credible evidence that these supplements truly work? In this presentation, I will briefly explore what the research tells us about three widely discussed groups of supplements – NAD boosters, antioxidants, and mitochondrial supporters.

Marta Kaczmarczyk holds an MSc in Cognitive and Decision Sciences and a Post-MSc in User System Interaction, for which she researched methods to enhance user engagement in health and wellness applications. Currently, she works as a Project Manager and New Products Coordinator at the Longevity Center, a clinic focused on longevity medicine, with lifestyle interventions being a key component of their programs. In addition, Marta is a co-founder of the Psychedelic Society of the Netherlands and a speaker on the role of stress management in reducing harm from supervised and unsupervised psychedelic sessions.

Connie Jimenez – ‘High-dose vitamin C – a promising cancer treatment’

Martijn LampertIn this presentation I will discuss high-dose intravenous vitamin C (IVC) as a multi-targeting anti-cancer strategy. I will elucidate the mechanisms of action of IVC, and we will also look at IVC’s ability to act as a ‘Trojan horse’, penetrating tumor cells, even in cancers with challenging mutations that are difficult to treat. Additionally, I will speak about the secondary benefits of IVC, particularly in alleviating the side effects of chemotherapy. We will also look at protocols and dosing.

Prof. dr. Connie Jimenez is the founder and head of the OncoProteomics Laboratory and professor of “Translational OncoProteomics” at the VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam. She is a biologist with an interest in cancer and neurodegenerative disease. Searching for a solution to her own health problems, she came across vitamin C. Eventually, this led to a line of research in her lab into the effect of vitamin C on cancer cells. She then discovered that many cancer cell models of different tumor types die from exposure to high doses of intravenous vitamin C.
